St. Andrews TeleCare

Utilising technology to keep people safe and secure

The development of assistive technology provides the latest innovations to enable people to feel safe and secure in their own homes 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

St Andrews Telecare monitoring devices include emergency pendants where, with the press of a button, help can be on the way. Door, bed and chair sensors alert the response centre should no activity be recorded within an expected timeframe. Emergency environmental situations in the home – for instance a flood of water or the stove left on – can be responded to. Reminder calls can be arranged to assist with medication or other individual needs.

Telecare systems allow people and their carers, whether aged, living alone, suffering dementia, or living with a disability, to feel independent, but know that they are not alone should any emergency arise.
