My interest in St Andrews began in 2008 when I began a five-year appointment as PA to the then CEO. This was a most rewarding period as, apart from gaining insight into the Aged Care Industry and its role in supporting the most vulnerable in society, I became very fond of the residents and staff. Upon retirement, I produced the History of St Andrews to mark their 30 th Anniversary in 2013. Learning about the dedication of those who began fundraising in 1973 to build the nursing home was inspirational. Both these experiences resulted in my long- time, heartfelt connection with St Andrews and its ongoing story. I feel privileged to serve on the Board and making a contribution towards ensuring the care and wellbeing of all who are part of the St Andrews’ community.

I came to Ballina at 16 years of age in 1966 and served an apprenticeship as a carpenter and joiner. I have been self employed since the early seventies and have been a licensed builder since the inception of licensing. Being mainly a commercial builder has enabled me to be engaged by many northern rivers aged care providers to preform construction projects having to work closely with the relevant management and staff has enlightened and endeared me to the needs of our elderly. I have been a St Andrews board member since 2011 and have brought experience in construction, project management and contract administration as well as years of knowledge and affection for the Ballina community.
