Dear Residents, Families and Visitors,

St Andrews has been closely monitoring the geographical areas and infection rates for CoVID-19 from the beginning of the pandemic and continue to do so to make informed decisions. In particular, we review the CoVID-19 daily information about the number of tests performed and the community acquired infections in Ballina, Byron, Tweed and Lismore (NNSW). These are key pieces of information that influence the controls St Andrews will put in place, to further protect the residents.

We are also reviewing the information on the government websites so that we abide by the Public Health Unit directives and recommendations. Currently the list of hot spots has been changing daily and these are reflected in our screening questions at the front entrance. We appreciate your patience and understanding with the screening process.

When you enter the facility please wash your hands, keep the 1.5m physical distance and where possible try not to touch building surfaces like handrails. Currently visitors from Sydney, who are not from hot spots, will be required to wear a mask (please bring your own mask) as a precaution.

St Andrews has developed an Outbreak Prevention and Management Plan so that as circumstances change we can vary the control measures accordingly. Some of these controls may require the use of masks or could be increased restrictions in visiting times etc. When changes occur we will announce them through the usual communication channels. More recently, the website has been changed to include a subscription action. If you would like the announcements (or Newsletters etc) to be sent to your email as soon as they are published you can subscribe on the website. There is also an unsubscribe function when required.

In regards to the St Andrews staff, they are acutely aware of the need to be careful when interacting in the community and are taking precautions to reduce the risk of being infected. They are very dedicated to the health and well being of the residents and are taking extraordinary actions.
